TEAM DAVIS: WHO WE ARE
Team Davis is an all volunteer non-profit organization established to help enrich the lives of children and adults with developmental, cognitive and/or physical disabilities living in or close to Davis, California. Team Davis sponsors athletic, social, cultural and recreational activities that help build physical skills, a sense of camaraderie, and a more fully integrated connection with the Davis community for our participants and their families and support staff. We serve as the Davis area's Special Olympics team.
Currently, over 125 individuals from the Davis area participate in one or more Team Davis sports or other activities during the year. While our initial focus has been on providing athletic opportunities for our members, we have also initiated a number of social, recreational and other kinds of activities. These include quarterly dances, our Good Foods/Gardening for Health class, art classes, singing lessons and participating in several community events, such as Celebrate Davis, Junk2Genius, and Aggie Idol.
